Recently the Drugs and Food Administration has published news alerts imports. If you are importer of any product you need to know this information at first hand.
Import alerts contain modifications and new regulations for any product that may violate laws or endanger the health of the population, so without physical examination the cargo may be detained upon entry into the US.
Here, some products on the red list:
- papaya and melons from Mexico
- peppers from Mexico
- fresh frozen(raw) shrimp from Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Thailand.
- antibiotics from Germany and Turkey
- Examination Gloves from Canada and India.
If a product is detained without physical examination the importer has the right to provide evidence to the FDA in an attempt to overcome the appearance of the violation. If no such evidence is submitted, or if the evidence provided is insufficient, the product will be subject to rejection of entry into the U.S.
