Requirements to export from Chile

Chile, one of the countries that has been present in recent years in the export ranking, with revenues that reached 96.1MM dollars in 2021; the most exported items are linked to the high production of copper and minerals, and its agricultural potential to export products such as fresh grapes, blueberries and plums.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, you can export as a natural or legal person. Here are the main requirements you should consider when you want to export from Chile:

– To have the procedure of Beginning of Activities, which is done on the website of the Internal Revenue Service.
– Know and abide by the Compendium of Customs Regulations, stipulated by the Customs Service, in which there is information and guidelines on the valuation of goods, the correct entry and exit of goods, tax declarations, and more.
– To have the tariff codes, according to the harmonized system, developed by the WCO.
– Certificate of Origin, its issuance in many cases and with the technological advance can be done online through the Digital Certificate of Origin System (SCOD). These certificates are tied to the foreign market tariff agreements granted to certain articles originating in the country.
