Maersk is the most important company in the shipping business, founded in 1904, currently has more than 500 container ships, which keep in transit much of the cargo that is handled annually around the world.

According to data provided by Maersk on its finances, by September of this year it recorded revenues of 12.13 billion dollars, which represents a decrease of approximately 46% versus December 2022.

The Triple-E class vessel is one of the largest container vessels in the world with a capacity of 400 meters long, 73 meters high and 59 meters wide. It was built in Okpo shipyard, Korea, 20 stories and a cargo capacity 11% greater than the previous largest ship in the world, being able to carry up to 2500 containers more.

One of the main design features of the class is its two 32-megawatt (43,000 horsepower) engines is its ultra-long-stroke two-stroke diesel engines, which drive two propellers at a speed of 22 knots. Slower than its predecessors, this class uses a strategy known as slow steaming, which is expected to reduce fuel consumption by 37% and carbon dioxide emissions per container by 50%.

Its name derives from its three focuses when it was designed and its acronym in English: Economy of scale, Energy efficient and Environmentally improved.
